The 1943 Mark meeting took place on Saturday 15th October. A well-attended meeting with George Simpson in the chair and a talk by our Provincial Almoner which introduced a number of challenges facing Provincial and Lodge Almoners in the years ahead.
Our partners were entertained with an interesting talk by Philip Serrell about some of the artefacts that he had auctioned. Unfortunately, he could not stay for the Festive Board as he had to rush away to support his wife who was racing at Silverstone later in the day.
However about 70 did sit down to dine during which the raffle and the auction of a hamper (you might have known if George was involved) raised almost £700 to be split equally between the Library & Museum and the 1943 Mark Charity Account.
Our Prov.G.M. RW Bro Eric Rymer was in attendance as was his deputy and assistant, together with the Prov.G M. from Gloucs & Herefordshire and A.Prov.G.Ms. from Warwickshire and Staffs &Shrops.
A good time was enjoyed by all.
